Amazing simplicity. I am noticing the mind dismiss such simplicity continuing its search to never find.

Yes. The simplicity, then the almost immediate dismissal of it as not enough. I recognize that movement well. Thank you, Glenda.

So wonderfully written, Kate.

The looking you describe here happened for me this morning but I could not have spread that out and expressed it so accurately or with the kind of empty poetic and reverent style you have.

For starters I was on the early morning bathroom visit…

Dripping tap

Gurgling water cistern

Swinging feet

Buzzing light

Some version of “ this is too simple “

or not enough… the sensual being veiled out by a super fast narrative and being noticed more and more interrupted by a knock on the door.

Thanks Kate.

Ruth, saying you couldn’t have expressed it as well makes me smile because then: dripping tap, gurgling cistern, swinging feet, buzzing light. The description itself feels like enough, including the sense it was not enough. Thank you for sharing this. :)

Lovely, yes. Describing the moment is simple. Following the thought process during the looking… not so simple.

Yes, it can all seem to happen so quickly—the looking, then the thought about the looking, almost as if they’re simultaneous. That’s part of what interests me so much.

Yes and the thought part of it can simultaneously feel like ownership.

Yes, that too.
